2012 Distinguished Alumni

When Forry lost his vision at age 27, he turned to PHCC for a new career direction. While working for PHCC News, he jokingly suggested he become a movie critic. Students and staff agreed and thus, a new career was born. Since then, Forry has reviewed hundreds of movies on his radio show Blindside. He picks up on nuances and perceives elements in films that viewers often miss because they are distracted by visual effects. Music and sound effects are keys to his understanding as well. He has won numerous awards, including the Florida Association of Community Colleges Distinguished Alumni of the Year award.
