Assistant Vice President of Nursing

  • Distinguished Alumni Award 2023
  • 2000

Amanda Martin is a Florida native; she was born in St. Petersburg and her family migrated to Pasco County in the early 90’s. Amanda’s interest in healthcare started early on as a volunteer at Dade City Hospital. During her junior year of high school, Amanda obtained her CNA license and started working full-time. She continued her education and became a registered nurse after graduating from Pasco-Hernando State College in 2000.

Amanda’s passion for her community and healthcare education was noted when she volunteered at Pasco High School to support and teach their Health Program in 2006, balancing her full-time hospital responsibilities as well as teaching the next generation of healthcare workers in a 3-hour block course. Her work in this program gave Pasco High School the ability to maintain the program, which is still in place today.

Amanda continued to show commitment to her community with her work on the Vonnie Roberts Memorial Scholarship that was created in 2009. This scholarship was created in memoriam of Vonnie Roberts, a Nursing Supervisor at the Dade City Hospital, that lost her life tragically to domestic violence. Since 2009, this scholarship has been able to award an annual scholarship for nursing students that still continues today.

In 2014, Amanda received her MSN from USF and achieved her ARNP in Family Practice. During this time Amanda was promoted to Chief Nursing Officer at Pasco Regional Medical Center (Dade City Hospital). During the 27 years working (and living) in Dade City, Amanda has participated and volunteered in many different areas. Outside of work councils, boards, and committees, Amanda has served as the Chair of the Quality Improvement Committee for Hernando Pasco Hospice, a Chapter’s Affiliate and has been a member of their board for the past 14 years. Amanda is also an Advisory Council Member for Pasco’s Health and Human Service for Pasco-Hernando State College and a member of the Supervisory Committee at San Antonio Citizens Federal Credit Union. Amanda and her husband, Tony, love living, working, and raising their family in Dade City/Zephyrhills area. Amanda hopes to continue to give back to the community for as long as she can.
