The Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) Foundation recently received a $1,300 gift from TRU Simulation + Training, Inc. (TRU) designated toward support of PHSC students pursuing aviation degrees. Beginning with the fall 2017-18 academic year, two $650 scholarships will be awarded. The funding provides scholarships to students pursuing Associate in Science (AS) degrees through PHSC’s newest high-demand aviation programs. Professional Pilot Technology and Aviation Administration AS degree programs began in August 2017. Unmanned Vehicles Systems Operations and Aviation Maintenance AS degree programs are slated for 2018. TRU scholarships are the first dedicated solely for aviation programs.

Eric Schilens, director, programs, TRU and Angela Kaul, technical writer for TRU presented a check at the PHSC aviation program open house held in July at the PHSC Dade City campus.
