The Duke Energy Foundation has continued its support of STEM education at PHSC. This year, the organization is graciously donating $42,000 toward elevating engineering achievement and career attainment within Pasco and Hernando counties. The funding will provide $21,700 in scholarships for engineering/drafting students. An additional $14,500 toward programmatic support will fund participation with SkillsUSA. The international organization works with students, teachers, and industry leaders to promote America's skilled workforce by providing educational programs, events and competitions. The remaining $5,800 will contribute needed relief to PHSC students negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through the SOS Fund.
Since 2017, the Duke Energy Foundation has granted $118,800 to sponsor scholarships and program support at PHSC.
