During the 2018-2019 academic year, the PHSC Foundation assisted 956 students with $1,078,527 in scholarship funding. The 2019-2020 academic year will be the first year that the Foundation exceeds $1.1 million in scholarship awards. This direct support to students would not be possible without the help of our donors and supporters.

The PHSC Foundation fills a critical role in elevating the programs and services of the College to ensure the institution is thriving and reaching strategic goals. In service of this goal, more than $460,000 in support was provided to PHSC for program and staff and faculty development (2018-2019).

This support of students and the College is facilitated by contributions made now and throughout our 44-year history. In 2019, the Foundation launched a community challenge to help combat local health care professional shortages with a goal of raising $1 million dollars for nursing scholarships. With the help of a matching challenge by the Roy T. Hardy Benevolent Fund, $430,000 was matched for this purpose, and we exceeded this goal.

In 2019, the Foundation also initiated a Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Angel Fund, which assists eligible students in joining the PTK Honor Society. Membership in PTK provides students with access to scholarships, professional and personal development, networking, and mentoring opportunities.

The students supported by PHSC Foundation initiatives speak for themselves when they tell you about our impact.
